Building a Women-First Service Marketplace on Base44

WD Strategies partnered with founder Mary Beth Snyder to turn the vision for blist, a women-first service marketplace connecting customers with skilled assistant vendors, into a fully integrated platform. The marketplace runs on a Base44 backend connected to HubSpot, Mailchimp, Stripe, QuickBooks Online and DottedSign.

The Challenge
Marketplace businesses often struggle because their systems are disconnected: payments may not align with accounting, CRM records may not reflect bookings, and vendor onboarding may depend on manual follow-up. blist needed to solve these problems together while delivering a seamless experience for four distinct groups: public visitors, customers, vendors, and administrators. Each workflow, from discovery and onboarding through booking, payment, completion, and review, had to work across the full ecosystem.

About the Project

WD Strategies delivered a unified marketplace platform with end-to-end booking and management, real-time communication, vendor performance visibility, administrative oversight, synchronized financial workflows, and lifecycle marketing connected to product activity.

The platform was also structured to support future intelligence features, including service and vendor matching and assisted communications, so blist can keep evolving without rebuilding its foundation.

Intersection
The brand identity and positioning were developed with Bridge Brand, a Harrisburg-based branding agency. Our role was to translate that brand into an operational product. We built the marketplace with a React and TypeScript frontend and a Base44 backend supporting authentication, business logic, automations, and integrations, with consistent customer, vendor, and administrative dashboards. Stripe and Stripe Connect handle customer payments and vendor payouts, QuickBooks Online keeps the accounting in sync, HubSpot is the CRM layer, Mailchimp runs lifecycle email, and DottedSign handles vendor agreements.
